IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION TO UNICARD PREPAID CARD CARDHOLDERS

Dear Cardholder,

Notice of termination of co-branded card issued by UniCard Solution Limited

We would like to notify you that the company through which you made your prepaid card application will end its co-branding agreement with UniCard Solution Limited. As a result, UniCard Prepaid Card cardholders will only be able to use their cards until 11:59pm on 31 December 2021 (‘Termination Date’).

In order to prevent any disruption to your payment needs, we encourage all cardholders to:

✓ Use up and/or withdraw your card balance before the Termination Date

✓ Change any standing instructions for recurring payments to avoid cancellations

✓ Apply for redemption by cheque or bank transfer*

Until the Termination Date, your card will function as normal and you can continue to top-up your account and make payments out of that account. However, after the Termination Date, your card will expire and you will no longer be able to use the funds out of the account for payment other than to redeem all funds in the account. You will also need to apply for a redemption of any remaining balance.

You may also consider applying for an alternative MasterCard or UnionPay prepaid card through other providers in Hong Kong. (These links will take you to an external website. We do not take responsibility for any information contained in those websites).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON FEES

UniCard will permanently waive Cancellation and Redemption Fees for all cardholders from the date of this Notice, whilst Inactive Fees will be waived only until 30 June 2022.

From 1 July 2022 onwards, you may still apply for redemption of any remaining balance, but Inactive Fees will be applied and deducted from any balance remaining in your account. If the applicable Inactive Fees is greater than the balance remaining, no redemption will be processed. We have updated the Terms & Conditions of your UniCard prepaid card product to reflect this change.

*HOW TO APPLY FOR A REDEMPTION

Redemption Period: Now until 30 June 2022.

Please submit the following to [email protected]:

1. Completed Redemption Application Form
2. A copy of your ID card.

Once approved, UniCard will initiate a refund by cheque (requires pick up from our Hong Kong office) or a payment instruction to your designated beneficiary bank account within ten (10) business days. Receipt of funds may depend on the beneficiary bank’s arrangements.
